Hedras anounces the launch of The Warrington Doorpaper

1/4/2009 The local newspaper industry is in crisis, especially here, in the North West. Job cuts are taking place and many more are expected to come. Some papers have just ceased to exist leaving their community without an important service. The fall of advertising revenue due to the economical crisis, that affected particularly the real state and motor sector, seems to be the culprit. This also poses a great opportunity for regeneration. A crisis is just that, a time of change, a time to take stock and learn from the mistakes of the past, get up and start something new. And that is what is happening in our town. A new paper has been born. The Warrington Doorpaper is been created by a small team of enthusiastic individuals with experience in the editorial industry, committed to bring something new, fresh and interesting to the readers of Warrington. We are conscious of the mission we take upon us. Because we understand the power of the written word, we impose on ourselves to use it with a deep sense of responsibility and service to the community, for the purpose of peace and harmony against hatred and violence, humbly chasing the truth, that as Oscar Wilde declared “is rarely pure and never simple”. There is a long road ahead of us but we are undeterred since we hope the reward will not be waiting for us at our destination, but, rather, we will find it along the journey we are starting. For that reason we invite all those who know they can contribute to this enterprise by way of sending comments, letters, advise or good wishes to do so. Their contribution will always be welcomed. We will start off with the first proper issue in mid April. We will distribute 12,000 copies to private residential homes in the WA5 district of Warrington that comprises the neighbourhoods of Westebrook, Callands and the surrounding areas. I will be a good chance for advertisers to get their message across an estimated average of 3 people per household. Advertising prices have been established to fit most needs and maximize efficiency.
